Dear Martin

During my year as Mayor of Brighton and Hove City Council 2015 – 2016 I found your support invaluable. Martin, because of your careful research you always ensured I said the correct words, at the correct time and to the correct people. Your speeches were always timely, appropriate and thoughtful and you helped me with advice on public speaking.

All of the above gave me great confidence when constantly speaking in public. I had complete trust in you and you repaid me with fine speeches. Moreover, you were cheerful and you also listened to my own thoughts and requirements when preparing the speeches. I could not have completed what I consider to be a successful year as Mayor without you Martin. Thank you.

Best wishes
Councillor Lynda Hyde – Former Mayor of Brighton & Hove

To whom it may concern

Dear Sir/Madam

I am writing in support of Martin Warren who has a gift with words when speech writing, in fact when writing anything that may be required. He would research the facts and then understanding my sense of humour he would write speeches for me while I was Mayor of Brighton & Hove City Council 2011-2012. I always felt safe and looked after as he knew me and the audiences I would be addressing; which made public speaking less daunting and more fun.

He could turn a phrase that could be seen as insulting and transform it into a humorous quirk of nature, something that everyone recognises and adores. That is a great talent and I hope that he uses that talent to the best of his ability as he did when he was writing for me.

Yours faithfully
Anne Meadows

Our daughter was getting married and my husband was tearing his hair out trying to write a speech, Martin came to the rescue:  Having given him some information about the bride and groom Martin wrote the most wonderful Father of the Bride speech which was touching and sincere, yet had our friends and family in stitches.
